We have started enrolling children in 16 empty buildings already available in various villages of UC Behrano Nagarparkar. We are beginning with hiring only 1 teacher/ school catering 70-100 children (girls and boys) for now and providing solar energy for each school. We have opened 5 solar schools so far and enrolled 400 children (girls and boys). We will continue improving them by hiring more teachers, working on making the schools child friendly and introducing quality education. Lets enroll around 900 more children by opening up the remaining 11 schools. Cost per solar school per year is Rs. 96,000. Contact us for more details
Meenay Laas’s Dig a Well Project is helping empower women to bring their communities out of poverty by providing close, clean water supplies to villages of Nagarparkar. We build and repairs wells in locations that are central to the community in need. Through the use of these wells, women can spend less time collecting water and have more time to have jobs, get an education and take care of domestic duties.
With the added time, women are given more opportunities to work outside of the home providing them with better financial access to medical treatments, education, and to food, which can provide a much more balanced diet for her family and improve their overall health.
